Core Values
We believe the Church exists to glorify Jesus Christ and fulfill the Great Commission: go into the world and make disciples, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey all that Jesus commanded. Of all God’s commandments, Jesus taught the two greatest are that we love God and love others. Our prayer is that by God’s grace, everything we do will be focused on fulfilling these commandments in Dallas Center, the surrounding area, and the world. (1 Peter 4:11)(Matt. 28:19-20)(Matt. 22:36-40)
Scripture, as God’s Word, is the standard of truth by which everything is evaluated. Therefore, we will seek to live out these purposes by keeping Scripture central as we embrace the following four core values.
Worship
As we grasp the magnitude of the gospel, which is God’s grace demonstrated through the death and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ, worship out of a humble and thankful heart flows naturally. Worship involves more than a couple of hours on Sunday morning. Since our purpose is to love and obey God, true worship will be lived out in a 24/7 lifestyle where we honor God in all we do. (Rom. 12:1)(1 Cor. 10:31)
Missional
Christ’s love compels us to live the life changing message of the gospel outside the walls of the church amidst a world in need of a Savior. We will seek to accomplish this mission through our words and actions on an individual and corporate level by equipping each person to embrace and share the gospel, to be actively seeking the lost, and by planting churches as God leads. (Rom. 10:14-15)(Acts 1:8)
Discipleship
God’s desire is for each person to be growing toward maturity in Christ. This is more than merely knowing and understanding biblical doctrine; His desire is for life change. Wherever you may be in your faith, we will provide opportunities for intentional discipleship, training one another to live like Christ. The result is a maturing disciple who is utilizing their time, talents, and treasure in service to God and others. (Eph. 4:11-16)(1 Cor 11:1)
Community
God created all people with a need for authentic relationships with Himself and with others. He is calling us to cultivate an environment of grace where authenticity is valued, real friendships are made, families are strengthened and lives are changed. This happens best through devotion to “the apostles teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer.” Therefore, Raccoon Ridge Community Church will create contexts where such relationships can be formed so that people can be known well, cared for, encouraged, and challenged. (Acts 2:42-47)(1 Thess. 5:11)
We are committed to providing a place where peace, forgiveness, hope and healing are available to all. We are all broken and God is putting the pieces together, so come as you are and let’s be renewed together.
